In 2010, the Town of Poultney had a population of 3,432. We are home to Green Mountain College, Lake Saint Catherine State Park, the Historic East Poultney District and the beautiful Poultney Downtown, among many other wonderful places to go and things to see!

The government of Poultney is divided into two parts, the Town of Poultney (44.8 sq. miles) and the Village of Poultney (.6 sq. miles), which is located entirely within the Town. Poultney is home to a Designated Downtown District, Designated Historic Main Street district and Designated Historic East Poultney district. In 2011, the Poultney charter turned 250 years old!
